Anxiety therapy, online
Anxiety Therapy in Miami and Online Across Florida
You might look calm in the meeting, answer every message on time, and still lie awake at 2 a.m. replaying something you said at lunch. Anxiety often hides well in people who keep everything running. Inside, the mind keeps scanning for what could go wrong, and the body never quite gets the signal that it is safe to rest.
I’m Isabel Wyss, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Miami. I offer anxiety therapy by secure video for adults in Miami and across Florida. Together we look at what keeps your nervous system on high alert, and we work with your thoughts and your body so that calm becomes something you can feel, as well as something you understand.

What anxiety can look like
Anxiety can look like panic, and it can also look like productivity, perfectionism or always being the reliable one. High-functioning anxiety is easy to miss because life keeps working, at least on the surface. You might notice:
- Overthinking that loops at night, replaying conversations or planning for every possible outcome
- A tight chest, shallow breathing, a clenched jaw or a stomach that knots before calls
- Panic attacks that seem to come out of nowhere, in traffic, in a store or in bed
- Trouble switching off, even on vacation or at the end of a good day
- Saying yes when you mean no, then feeling resentful and drained
- Checking, rechecking or needing reassurance before you can let something go
- Avoiding plans you used to enjoy because the dread beforehand is too much
- Feeling on edge in your own body, as if you are waiting for something bad to happen
These patterns usually started as a way to stay safe. Somewhere along the way your system learned that staying alert, prepared and pleasing kept trouble away. Therapy helps that part of you learn that it can stand down.
Why understanding your anxiety hasn’t calmed it down
Many of the people I work with already know a lot about their anxiety. They have read the books, they can name their triggers and they can explain where it comes from. And yet the racing heart still shows up before the presentation.
That is because anxiety lives in the nervous system as much as in your thoughts. When the body has been on alert for years, logic alone rarely convinces it to relax. So we work on both levels, with the goal that what you know in your head starts to match how you feel day to day.
How I treat anxiety: nervous system work, EMDR, ACT and somatic tools
My approach is part of what I call The Return Home Framework, an integrative way of working that draws on several methods. We choose what fits you and adjust as we go.
- Nervous system regulation: learning to notice when you are revving up or shutting down, and practicing simple ways to come back to a steadier middle
- Somatic tools: grounding, breath, orienting to the room and tracking sensation, drawn from my training as an Integrated Somatic Trauma Practitioner with The Embody Lab
- EMDR: I’m trained in EMDR, which can help reprocess the memories and experiences that keep fear switched on, when that fits your goals
- ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy): making room for anxious thoughts without letting them make your decisions, and acting on what matters to you
- IFS-informed parts work: getting to know the worried, controlling or people-pleasing parts of you with curiosity instead of criticism
I believe the body holds a lot of wisdom about what it needs. Part of our work is learning to listen to it, so you can tell the difference between real danger and an old alarm that goes off too easily.
What anxiety therapy sessions look like
- 01Free 15-minute consultationWe talk by phone or video about what’s been happening and where you’d like help. You can ask questions and see if we are a good fit.
- 02Getting to know youIn the first sessions I learn about your history, your daily life and when your anxiety shows up. I don’t diagnose from a distance. We build the picture together.
- 03Building steadiness firstBefore we go near anything painful, we work on tools that help your body settle. You leave with practices you can use at your desk, in the car or at 2 a.m.
- 04Working with the rootsOnce you feel more grounded, we look at the beliefs, memories and patterns underneath the anxiety, using EMDR, parts work or somatic work where it fits.
- 05Noticing what changesWe pay attention to what shifts between sessions, like sleeping through the night or saying no without hours of guilt, and adjust the plan with you.
Online anxiety therapy for Miami and all of Florida
All of my sessions happen over secure, HIPAA-compliant video, and I don’t have an office. You need to be physically in Florida at the time of each session. For anxious clients this is often a relief: no commute, no waiting room and no rushing through Miami traffic only to arrive already wound up.
You can join from a quiet room at home, a parked car or anywhere private where you can speak freely. I work with adults in Coral Gables, Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and other parts of the state, in English or Spanish.
Therapy isn’t an emergency service. For urgent help at any hour, call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or go to the closest emergency department.

Questions about Anxiety Therapy
How do I know if my anxiety is bad enough for therapy?
You don’t need to reach a breaking point first. If worry is costing you sleep, affecting your work or relationships, or keeping you from things you want to do, that is reason enough. Plenty of people start therapy while still functioning well on the outside. The free 15-minute consultation is an easy, no-pressure way to talk it through and decide if now is the right time.
Can EMDR help with anxiety?
EMDR is best known for trauma, and it can also help when anxiety is tied to specific memories or experiences, such as a frightening event, a harsh relationship or years of feeling unsafe. I’m trained in EMDR and use it when it fits your goals and when you have enough steadiness to work with difficult material. We decide together, and we prepare first.
Does online therapy work for anxiety?
For most people, yes. Video sessions remove the drive, the parking and the waiting room, which can make it easier to start and to keep going. Grounding and somatic tools work well over video because you practice them in the same place where your anxiety usually shows up. You need to be physically in Florida during each session.
Do you prescribe medication for anxiety?
No. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I don’t prescribe medication. If you are curious about medication, or already take it, I’m glad to work alongside your doctor or psychiatrist. Therapy and medication can be used together, and the skills you build in therapy stay with you either way.
Can therapy help with panic attacks?
Yes. During a panic attack the body’s alarm system fires as if you were in danger: racing heart, tight chest, dizziness, a sense of doom. It is frightening, though not dangerous in itself. In therapy we learn how your panic builds, practice ways to ride it out and work on the fears that keep it coming back. If symptoms are new, check with a doctor too.
How much does anxiety therapy cost?
Sessions are 50–60 minutes, and private pay is $175 per session. Insurance options depend on your plan, so ask during your free consultation. The consultation itself costs nothing, lasts 15 minutes and can be by phone or video. The fees and insurance page has more detail.
