Serving Miami Beach online
Online Therapist for Miami Beach Residents
Living on Miami Beach means planning almost everything around the causeways. I’m Isabel Wyss, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Miami, and I keep therapy off that list by meeting with clients over secure video.
You can sit down for a session in a South Beach apartment, a spare bedroom in Mid-Beach, or a parked car near North Beach and be talking with me a minute later. There is no office on either side of Biscayne Bay for you to get to.
Sessions run 50–60 minutes and cost $175. The first step is a free 15-minute consultation by phone or video.

No causeway, no parking garage
Anyone who has crawled across the MacArthur behind a stalled car, or watched the Julia Tuttle back up on an event weekend, knows how unpredictable a trip to the mainland can be. Add that to a therapy appointment and one hour can swallow an afternoon.
Because my sessions are online only, your commute is the walk from the kitchen to a quiet room. That counts for the most in the busy season, when visitors fill the roads, the garages, and the sand.
To be clear, I have no office on the Beach or anywhere else. All appointments are HIPAA-compliant video sessions for people located in Florida.
Therapy around late shifts and changing schedules
Plenty of people here work in restaurants, hotels, events, fitness, or the arts, where the schedule shifts from week to week. Others work remotely from a condo and find that every day starts to blur into the next.
I have weekday and some evening times, and booking happens in a secure portal where you can see what is open. Appointments need 24 hours’ notice, so you can grab a slot as soon as next week’s shifts are posted.
- You are wired at 3 a.m. after a closing shift and flat by the afternoon.
- Your weekend falls on a Tuesday, and friends have stopped asking you out.
- You reach for a drink, your phone, or one more plan so you never face a quiet evening.
- You look relaxed in every photo and feel very little behind the smile.
Keeping therapy private in a small island city
Miami Beach draws visitors from all over the world, but the people who live here year-round tend to know each other. Your trainer, the front desk in your building, and your neighbor’s cousin may all cross paths in a single week. Seeing me by video keeps therapy out of that loop.
- In a condo with thin walls or a shared balcony, earbuds keep my voice private.
- Sit with your back to a wall, away from windows that face other units.
- When a roommate is home, a parked car on a side street gives you the hour to yourself.
- Close other apps so messages do not pull you out of the conversation.
What brings people from the Beach to my practice
- Trauma therapy, for experiences that still show up as jumpiness, numbness, or a body that will not settle
- Psychedelic integration therapy, for making sense of a ceremony or retreat that has already happened. I offer integration support only and do not provide, recommend, or guide any psychedelic or plant-medicine use.
- Substance use counseling, for anyone questioning their relationship with alcohol or other substances, or protecting their recovery
- Burnout therapy, for people who have been running at full speed for so long that rest feels uncomfortable
- Somatic therapy, for learning to feel at ease in your own body again
- EMDR therapy, including Ketamine-Assisted EMDR (KA-EMDR®), for memories that keep replaying no matter how often you talk them through
Before private practice, I worked as a primary therapist and clinical supervisor in substance use and addiction treatment settings, and as a primary therapist in community mental health, with people facing trauma, anxiety, grief, addiction, and major life changes. That background shapes how steady and unhurried I try to be in session.
The way I work, which I call The Return Home Framework, looks underneath the symptoms for their roots: old trauma imprints, beliefs picked up early, or a nervous system that never got the message it is safe now.

Common questions
Will you meet with me in person on Miami Beach?
No. My practice is online only, and I do not have a physical location anywhere. We meet over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform, and you can join from your home, your car, or any private place in Florida. For a lot of Beach residents, not having to cross a causeway is the reason therapy finally fits into the week.
Do you offer psychedelic integration after a retreat or ceremony?
Yes, as integration support only. I do not provide, sell, recommend, or guide psychedelic or plant-medicine use, and I do not sit with clients during experiences. Ketamine is a prescription medicine, and most other psychedelics are not legal in Florida. Separately, I offer Ketamine-Assisted EMDR (KA-EMDR®), where a psychiatrist prescribes and oversees a low dose of ketamine. With me, we work with what has already happened, without judgment.
Can I have a session from a hotel or a second home?
If that place is in Florida, yes. My license covers people who are located in Florida during the session, so a hotel room in Sunny Isles or a relative’s place in Orlando both work. If you split your year between Miami Beach and another state, we can meet during the stretch you are here.
What if I work nights or weekends?
My openings fall at weekday and some evening times, and the client portal shows what is open right now. If your shifts change often, you can book one session at a time once you know your schedule, as long as it is at least 24 hours ahead. We can talk about timing in your free consultation.
How do I keep sessions private in a condo building?
Headphones are the biggest help, since they keep my voice from carrying. Choose a room away from shared walls or hallways, and close the door. A small fan or white-noise machine near the door adds another layer. If home will not work on a given day, a parked car in a quiet spot is a good backup.
